Events

Welcome to the ANZAS events page.  Events are the heart of bringing Aussies, Kiwis and Americans together.  Events honor and celebrate many of our unique holidays and also celebrate American activities.  We also attempt to support Australians and Kiwis who participate in these events.

Monthly Social
Each month after the board meeting is the social hour.  Starting at 5:30 the last Thursday of the month.  Meet the board members and find out about the newest ANZAS business and events.  The social hour is generally held at the Rock Salt restaurant on South Lake Union in downtown Seattle.  Meetings are in the lounge area and start at 5:30PM.  During the social time the Rock Salt restaurant offers happy hour prices on drinks and appetizers.

Melbourne Cup
Held at Emerald Downs with a live feed from Australia and the option to place your bets.  Stay tuned for the 2008 event.  See photos from the 2006 event here.

Australian Rules Football (Seattle Grizzlies)
The local AFL team competes around the Pacific Northwest.  Click here for more information.

Rugby
There are a variety of Rugby of rugby teams in the Seattle area.  Simply search Google for Seattle Rugby and a variety of teams will pop up.  If contacted by specific teams we will announce games or publish a schedule.
